Bio
Hildegunn Hovde is a singer, musician, and composer living in Lauvstad, Volda. She has a background in voice and composition with an MA from the Norwegian Academy of Music, and works as a freelancer in addition to teaching music at the Volda University College. Hildegunn has a range of recordings, commissioned works, and projects across various genres, primarily focusing on vocal folk music and performer-based composition. In 2014, she was awarded a 2-year work grant from the Norwegian Artists' Grant Committee.
Hildegunn explores voice, instruments, and natural objects in conjunction with music. Currently, she is working on a project where the basis for sound, rhythm, and composition comes from animal bones collected from the shore.
